Support Small Business

This article urges readers to participate in support of small businesses of Utah. Small businesses are struggling to stay open due the lack of costumers. The internet and other bigger businesses are taking them away.  When small businesses close there is a major impact on the economy.

In relating this article to my research, Salt Lake County Mayor McAdams was quoted saying if Utah citizens shift only ten percent of spending to local small businesses, an extra $1 billion would come back to the overall economy. To illustrate this, if $100 is spent in a local business, $56 stays in the area. Compare that to the same spent at a department store where only $13 is kept. This completely supports the claim that small businesses keep Utah afloat economically.
